Garage Doors styles of all sizes, operating modes, and styles are on offer with Central Garage Doors (NW) Ltd. Dependent upon your personal tastes, and the physical structure of your garage, some operating types will be more suitable than others, and our highly trained staff can explain the differences to you in detail when you visit one of our showrooms in Kendal or Warrington. Until then, the information on this page will provide some insight into the different choices of operating mechanisms and their specific features. You will find a brief summary of each type of garage door currently available, and for more detailed information about each, please choose an option from the menu on the left.

Up and Over Garage Doors

Up and Over Garage Doors

By far the most favoured style of lifting apparatus in the UK, up and over canopy doors come in a vast range of styles to suit any taste or budget. These doors are ideal for garages with limited headroom and space for tracks, but maintain their advantage in that automation is still available.

Side Hinged Garage Doors

Side Hinged Garage Doors

These popular ‘traditional’ garage doors are especially ideal for use where there may be obstructions within the garage. Constructed of exceptionally durable materials, this style offers outstanding security with an extended, trouble-free life cycle. Automation is available as an option.

Sectional Garage Doors

Sectional Garage Doors

Rapidly becoming one of the UK's favoured styles, sectional garage doors are named for their construction style, which is that they are made of separate sections that open vertically. They offer ‘park right up' convenience via a smooth torsion and extension spring mechanism. This style also provides ‘finger safe' operation due to enclosed moving parts and push away joints.

Roller Garage Doors

Roller Garage Doors

Much as their name suggests, roller doors open and close vertically, forming a compact roll or ‘coil’ above the garage opening. Because of this feature, only minimal space is required either inside or outside of the garage. Additional slimmed-down versions of the Thermaglide and Steel-line models are available which require even less headroom.
